What is the TOEFLŪ test?
The Test Of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFLŪ test) evaluates the English language
proficiency of non-English speaking students applying to universities and colleges
with English language requirements. It is estimated that well over 1 million
TOEFLŪ computer-based tests (CBT) are taken each year worldwide.
In the United States, Canada, and 80 other countries, there are more than 15,000 universities and colleges that require a TOEFLŪ test score for admission. A high TOEFLŪ test score shows that the student has the skills to learn and compete in an English speaking setting. Many international companies also require a TOEFLŪ exam score as part of the applicant's resumé.
Listening:
Just like the computer-based TOEFLŪ exams, this section includes short and long conversations, lectures, and classroom discussions. The practice exams include a timer to help the student practice under exam conditions. The more familiar a student is with exam writing strategies and the types of questions found on the TOEFLŪ CBT test, the better chance there is that he or she will receive a high score.
Structure:
There are two types of structure questions in the TOEFLŪ CBT exam: sentence
completion and error identification. Most TOEFLŪ exams can include up to 16
different grammar points, from adjectives to subordination. The Practice Test for the TOEFLŪ CBT
Structure section reviews every type of question in each of the 16 structure
areas.
Reading:
There are 9 different types of questions in the computer-based TOEFLŪ exam - Reading section that range from inserting a sentence into a paragraph to reading a piece of the text to identify the purpose of the passage. This product has all 9 types of questions.
